This complaint is specifically against the owner. I made an appointment with this salon for an eyebrow wax and a hair cut. I had absolute no problem with the stylist that did my hair, but the problem was with the waxing. I didn't know anyone in there, so when I made the eyebrow wax appointment, I assumed that they would schedule me with someone that knew how to do them.
I was very wrong. The owner failed to let me know that the regular girl for waxing had left already, and instead of acting professionally, she sent me to get my eyebrows waxed with someone who did not do eyebrows, only facials (I later found out).
I clearly said that the shape was beginning to be very flat, so I let them grow a good 1/4 in. That should give anyone plenty to work with. She told me what she was going to do, and it sounded good to me. Well, after more than half an hour, the person showed me one eyebrow done. It was not what I she said she was going to do. She had done it far to thin, and completely flat. I had no option, she had to do the other one.
(I should have walked out with only one done). The second eyebrow took even longer, and she removed a patch of the eyebrow completely. I was left with two very different shapes, one shorter than the other, one without a complete section, and the best reminder that people are not honest, a really big and painful burn. It was not red for a day or two, it lasted weeks.
Lets say the person who did it was only following orders, and could not tell me that she didn't know what she was doing. Then, there is no excuse for the lack of honesty and professionalism from the owner. The owner was ready to let me walk out of there after asking me to pay, had I not politely complained. She saw how horrible the job was, and said nothing. I had to point out that the person took far tool long, that the work was really bad, and that I had a burn. She acted as if I was exaggerating, and only until I made my point that it was a horrible experience, she offered to not charge me. I had to ask her to show me how to pencil in the missing eyebrow, I had to ask her to tell me how to deal wit the burn. What kind of professional is she?
I was very slow to react. I should have left the place after I noticed that the person doing my eyebrows hesitated at every move she made. I only wish I had not left that day with $45 less in my wallet, and an awful month of scar on the eyelid.
I'm sure the regular person who does waxing is really good, but I would never recommend this salon to anyone. You just don't know if they will be professional enough to tell you an untrained person will be in charge of shaping the one element that frames your face.
