Just the facts. We signed our lease for June 1st and were not allowed in for 2 weeks after that as they were unable to paint the house on time. The house was vacant for several months before we moved in. We have had several instances of leaks in the roof throughout the last 1.5yrs. Most recently the leak which was active when we moved in became increasingly worse to the point of the plaster falling from the ceiling. It then took 2 months to get roofers out to fix it. Thank goodness it doesn't rain much here. Within those 2 months we were told multiple times the check from the owners to start the roof repair was in the mail. Either the mail here in New Mexico is Pony Express slow or they were not being fully truthful with us. Once the roof repair began the roofers inadvertently put a staple in a water pipe resulting in a water leak into the living room coming through electrical outlets. That was the time I found out there is no emergency contact for Re/Max of Alamogordo leaving me to deal with this on my own. It has now been almost a month after the roof has been fixed and they are finally getting around to the multiple holes in the ceiling from the original leak and from the holes the plumber cut to get to the leaking pipe. Their contracted maintenance workers have now missed 2 appointments with me to assess the damage. My husband is deployed in Iraq and I have been having to deal with all this. I want to caution my fellow military families when considering Re/Max of Alamogordo for renting. They may treat their home buyers better, but I have been struggling to deal with this while my husband is serving his country.
