Worth Reading, I dont write reviews but would not feel right if I didn't (This was a major purchase for me!
I never take the time to write reviews. Like most people I have purchases I make online and purchases I want to make in person. I will occasionally go to best buy and look at electronics then buy them online to save money but do feel guilty not supporting
local stores. My wife lost her engagement ring that I purchased with a college loan when I was 24 years old. I paid 4k for a 1 carat diamond with a simple platinum setting. I had the ring insured but never updated it since I originally added jewelry to my
home owners. My sister went to art school and designed jewelry and worked for a short time for the guy I purchase my first stone from, I got an honest deal. I started shopping online and noticed some fantastic deals on eBay. I purchased my new ring from King
of Jewelry. He did not have a ring posted that I liked but I did notice that he had 100% positive feedback and the address is in LA where all the retail shops buy their stones, LA Diamond district. You may find it interesting that I did not like the first
ring and stone I purchased. Andrew was very honest and explained the difference between EGL & GIA certifications and I won’t go into that but there are significant differences between the accuracy. Don’t get me wrong the EGL stones are fine but will score
more favorably in EGL than GIA. Example a VS1 G EGL USA will be a VS2 I in GIA. The first stone I got was 1.75 Cushion cut that looked more like a 2 ct. We had a diamond wholesaler near us that is a family friend tell us that she could not match the price
and she bought her stones from many people on the same street as King of Jewelry. We loved the stone but it had a medium florescence and had a slight yellow tint in certain light, this was disclosed in the certificate. We had them make us a platinum setting
and it fit perfect. We had it looked at locally and the jeweler told us it was a great deal but he agreed that the EGL cert was not accurate. I called Andrew and he had me send it back and he found us a slightly smaller stone that was perfect and made us a
new setting that fit the stone better. The stone was deeper than the first and looked much smaller due to the shape and depth. We were happy and the local jeweler told me he would sell the same stone for 50% more without the setting or tax! Andrew could tell
that we were satisfied but we were disappointed in the smaller appearance of the stone. He asked me to send it back and told me he would find me the perfect stone if I could give him a week or so. The 3rd ring was made again because the new stone would not
sit right in the setting and they changed it slightly at my wife’s request. The 3rd stone was a GIA stone that was not as deep so the appearance was that of a slightly larger stone. I went to a few very reputable jewelry stores in Cleveland and they showed
me 2 stones that were almost identical. The cheapest they could come was 35% higher with no ring plus sales tax. Buying a diamond is personal and not looking at it is very difficult. I will tell you that Andrew never made me feel bad about returning the ring,
paid for shipping and spent hours getting us the ring we wanted. I'm certain that they did not make money on my ring but they made me feel like their best customer the entire time. The original emails were for platinum and throughout the process he forgot
that and had me priced with white gold. He told me that the platinum was 1,300 more. I had him look at the emails and he apologized and told me he would eat the cost. I guess 5 stars to most people would be the perfect ring the first time. Looking back I'm
sure that's the case most of the time or they would not have such good feedback but my story is proof that you will be 100% satisfied with your purchase and get far more for your money. My ring appraised for 3 times what I paid at an independent GIA certified
gemologist! Sorry this was so long, this is the 2nd time I have taken the time to write feedback for a purchase, I hope it's helpful!
