I was ripped off too. Kid giving the college speech and saying how this can help him get a grant. Bought a year subscription to maxim for 30 bucks. I Payed with a check on 10/23/09. After he left i was suspicious and canceled the subscription and sent the cancellation on 10/24/09 (next day). I also got a delivery receipt since is a po box. I called to follow up and on 10/29/09 i was told by someone that they have received the cancellation on time and will send something to me to fill out to get a refund.( that monday my check was cashed and it cost too much to cancel the check). After 5 weeks of calling every week to receive this paperwork (everytime they confirmed my address) nothing was received. The 6th time, i was told that they never received anything to cancel it and that i didnt pay in full to process the magazine. In other words they lied to me to take my money and want more money for no reason. Also, they said me to send proof to them. If you look at your receipt (the pink carbon copy that the salesman writes all over it and this company will use that against you which said that you wrote paid in full on it).
