DO NOT use this company. They are a SCAM. I had booked my out-of-state move with them (b/c of the seemingly great price they were offering) before doing my homework. I stupidly gave them my credit card info. Once I found they 1. had a poor rating with the BBB, and 2. were blacklisted on 'movingscam.com, I called and cancelled my order. "Sean" said no problem. I also faxed them a letter of cancellation twice. Meanwhile, I booked with a much more reputable company. A week prior to the move, a moving truck driver called to confirm time of pickup on moving day. He identified himself as being from "the moving company", never stating which one. This is part of their scam. I assumed he was from the company I had booked. After all, "Sean" told me my order was cancelled, right?
On moving day this unkept guy with a dirty mouth shows up. He's from Empire, and he keeps smoking cigarettes and throwing the butts on my lawn. In a panic I call "Sean", who denies over and over ever speaking with me about canceling my order or receiving any faxes.
Short story long, after lots of arguing and getting other parties involved, it was resolved, but thanks to Empire it was one of the most stressful days of my life. DO NOT use them under any circumstances. They are immoral and could ruin your life. They are also known as Empire Moving Service. Also check out the consumer watchdog site www.movingscam.com. It is free and a wealth of information.
