There seems to be a pattern going on here. I ordered a custom set of Starkey ITC hearing aids from Dr. Shoquist. After waiting several weeks, I called Shoquist and he said they were delivered to the wrong address and "destroyed" which was very suspect right from the start. But he said I could try a pair of Lyric WOWs, which he had in stock, and see how I liked them. When I asked about the price he said we could "work it out". He wrote up a subscription contract where the purchase price over time would end up substantially more than the first ones.
I returned the hearing aids within the trial period and asked for a refund. He said I would have to wait 30 days before he could get the money back from the manufacturer. After considerable pressure, he gave me a check which was returned with insufficient funds. Dr. Shoquist will not return calls and did not even bother to show up for his hearing in Small Claims Court.
A background search reveals he has had numerous state and federal tax liens and small claims court cases. The Better Business Bureau gives him an F rating for numerous unresolved complaints.
There is no doubt this guy is a crook taking advantage of people who don't know how to fight back.
